Everything Matlo does with your games

Matlo is built around a single loop: your games are analysed, what costs you points is measured, and every finding becomes an exercise. Here is what you will find, page by page.

One loop, not a collection of tools

  1. 1

    Analyse

Your Lichess and Chess.com games are imported and analysed move by move by Stockfish.

  2. 2

    Measure

Your mistakes get their motif, and every dimension of your play is compared with players at your level.

  3. 3

    Train

Puzzles, positions from your games, openings and wasted advantages: what you miss comes back.

Game analysis

Chess game analysis, move by move

Matlo imports your Lichess and Chess.com games and analyses them with Stockfish: inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders, accuracy for each side, an evaluation graph and key moments. Every mistake it finds then becomes an exercise.

Chess profile

Your chess level, area by area, compared with players at your level

Matlo's profile gives a rating to every area of your play, opening, middlegame, endgame, tactics, time management, compared with Lichess players at your exact rating and with you a few months ago. It only names a strength or a weakness when the gap is likely and large enough.

Tactics training

Chess tactics training by time control, on the clock

Matlo offers chess puzzles sorted by time control, blitz, rapid or long, each with its two-phase clock and its rating. Series start from your mistakes, missed puzzles come back with spaced repetition, and positions from your games become exercises.

Opening repertoire

Opening repertoire trainer with spaced repetition

Matlo's repertoire is the tree of moves you want to play, built on the board with an explorer of games at your level, reviewed with spaced repetition and checked against your real games: it shows where you leave it and what is missing.

Visualization

Chess visualization: blindfold, hidden moves, warm-ups

Visualization is the ability to see the position without looking at it: remembering the pieces, following a line in your head, knowing what a piece attacks. Matlo trains it with three separate exercises, each with its own level, gathered in the Visualization section of the Train space.
